Have you taken your utility meter readings?

With the energy prices set to rise from 1st April 2022, experts are urging people to take meter readings to avoid being overcharged for their energy usage.


Taking and submitting a meter reading on Thursday 31st March 2022 will provide energy companies with an accurate view of a households’ energy usage up until that point and should prevent customers being charged the new higher rates for more energy than necessary.

How else can we save money on our energy bills?

  • Turning off unused appliances at the plug could help save an average of £30.00 per year.

  • On average almost half of the money spent on energy is used on heating and hot water, by turning your heating down by even one degree could save you up to £80.00 per year.

  • Washing your clothes at lower temperatures can help reduce your annual energy usage.

  • Having a Smart Meter installed allows you to keep a closer eye on your energy usage and can quickly show if any changes you make to your energy usage are making a difference.

With the cost of living on the rise, any savings that can be made are worth the effort!

If you are struggling to pay your energy bills you should contact your energy supplier to see if they can help. You may be able to set up a payment plan with them to keep your monthly payments at a more manageable level.
